In the stunning landscapes of Cornwall, where coastal beauty meets a strong sense of community, there’s a growing need for a service that extend beyond traditional support.
That’s where Edwards & Co comes in – a company dedicated to providing essential home help and cleaning services to those who need it most.
A Vision Born from Experience
After more than two decades at a leading council-run emergency call handling response service, including a senior role, responding to tens of thousands of personal emergencies, Del Edwards had the unique opportunity to witness first-hand the increasing demand for home help workers.
It became clear that many elderly, vulnerable and isolated individuals required practical assistance in their daily lives – not just medical or emergency aid, but companionship and hands-on support to maintain their independence.
For Del it was clear that a gap in the system needed to be filled, so he created a dedicated home help service that was desperately needed in Cornwall.
One that would go beyond conventional support and focus on empowering people to take back control of their own lives.
A Service Built on Community
With this vision in mind, Edwards & Co was created to provide practical, everyday support, including:
- Running errands – Helping with shopping, picking up prescriptions, post office trips and more.
- Household assistance – Taking out the bins, preparing meals, washing up and keeping things organised.
- Pet care – Dog walking, feeding pets, cleaning litter trays or designated areas and offering companionship for animals too.
- Preparing food – Helping individuals prepare meals or simply making them a sandwich whilst they rest.
- Companionship – Tackling loneliness through meaningful interactions.
Cornwall is a beautiful place to call home, but isolation and loneliness remain serious challenges.
A recent Cornwall Council report revealed that nearly half of Cornish residents feel lonely, a statistic that highlights the urgent need for services like Edwards & Co.
Loneliness doesn’t just affect mental well-being, it impacts physical health too.
That’s why we are committed to creating real connections, ensuring no one feels alone in their own home.
The Connection Between Clean Homes & Well-being
Beyond companionship and home help, cleanliness and organisation play a key role in mental and emotional health.
A cluttered or unkempt home can add to stress and anxiety, making it harder to feel comfortable and in control.
This has inspired Del to take up the necessary practice to enhance his domestic and residential cleaning skills, giving clients peace of mind and a space they can truly relax in.
